I Dream of Genies

This is my favorite Genie Awards story, as told by Dale Morningstar, who dates actress Rebecca Jenkins (Bye Bye Blues, South Of Wawa, Bob Roberts):
"When I met Rebecca and we started dating I didn't know what she did. Someone told me she was an actor and a singer and I thought, `That's cool.' After we started going out, I had a friend over and Rebecca was cooking dinner. The Grammies were on TV and I said `Awards shows are so stupid. Bec, if you won an award, say like for acting, you wouldn't accept it, would you?'
"And she said, `Well ... I won a Genie for Bye Bye Blues.'
"And I said `Oh, so you've made movies 'n' stuff?' "
Rebecca Jenkins won the Genie in 1990 for best performance by an actress in a leading role.
I knew that, before Dale mentioned it, and I have never dated Rebecca Jenkins. But say you were dating Kevin Costner. You would probably know that he had won an Oscar for Dances With Wolves.
